Archbishop Smith (Vancouver, BC, Canada) leads first monthly Rosary: ‘The Church’s decisive contribution’ to peace by Nicholas Elbers
A new tradition has begun at Holy Rosary Cathedral.
On the first Saturday of October, more than 500 people filled the pews, joined by over 2,000 others online, to pray the Joyful Mysteries with Archbishop Richard Smith. The “Rosary for Peace” will now take place monthly through June, offering the faithful an opportunity to come together in prayer for peace in a world deeply troubled by conflict.
“This speaks to the felt need of everybody,” Archbishop Smith told The B.C. Catholic. “We all want to be doing something for peace, and this is the Church’s decisive contribution: prayer.”
